1. The Birth of Yagyu Jubei II

Nanohana Jiyu is an ordinary schoolgirl until she runs across a scatterbrained 300 year old samurai who tells her that she is the reincarnation of Yagyu Jubei. With the help of the "Lovely Eyepatch" she transforms into the legendary swordsman whenever she needs to use his awesome fighting ability, which she needs to do quite often..A rival clan is dead set on conquering Yagyu to satisfy an old family grudge.

2. Falling in Love with the Enemy

Jiyu leaves her Lovely Eye Patch at home because she doesn't think she will need it at school. Seeing this, Koinosuke heads to her room to get the Lovely Eye Patch so that he can give it to her. However, her father, Sai, reminds him that he should not go into a girl's room. At school, Jiyu has a new teacher named Hariu Tessai, who quickly develops a crush on her. After school, Hariu challenges Jiyu to a duel. Jiyu gives Koinosuke permission to go into her room to get the Lovely Eye Patch. Koinosuke quickly retrieves it and gives it to her. Jiyu transforms into Jubei II and defeats Hariu.

4. The Road of No Return

Bantaro is injured, so they take him to Shiro's mother, as she is the head nurse at Hontsuru Hospital, to cure him. Shiro soon spots a mysterious guy outside - Hajime, Shiro's twin brother. Hajime asks him to rejoin the clan and defeat Jubei II. Shiro refuses. Later as the Ruffians approach Jiyu's house, they see a crudely drawn character trying to break in and attack. The figure pulls out a sword and says he's Tenchi Muyonosuke and has come to kill Jubei II. Jiyu transforms and defeats him.

5. The Enemy Brought a Memory with Them

Mikage and her husband are requested to defeat Jubei II, they kidnap both Sai and Koinosuke in order to force Jiyu to give up the Eyepatch in exchange for the hostages. When Mikage puts on the Eyepatch, though, it starts burning her. Jiyu remembers that her mom felt hot before she died and instinctively jumps in and rips the Eyepatch off, leaving a smoky Mikage. Jiyu says that although they look similar, Mikage is not her mom. She transforms and defeat them.

6. My Next Enemy Is Yesterday's Ally

Shiro tells Koinosuke that Jubei II's weakness is that the eye-patch inhibits her peripheral vision. He then brings Jiyu to the dojo and tells her that she has a weakness. He wants to teach her to overcome this, but Jiyu refuses to take part. Things get worse as Jinza shows up at Jiyu's house and challenges her. Jiyu transforms and soon realizes that without Koinosuke she'll just have to fight without a sword.

Jubei II defeats the assassins. Afterward, Shiro and Jubei II engage in a duel, he cuts off the Eyepatch, but as soon as Jiyu returns to her normal self, she collapses. Bantaro takes her to a doctor while Hajime attacks Shiro, and takes the Eyepatch.

At home, Jiyu's fever is very high and Sai does what he can to dissipate the heat. However, the two are attacked by an army of ninjas. Jiyu's clever and cunning ways scare the band off.

9. Dad's Premonition of Love

Shiro wakes up at Jiyu's teacher's house. The teacher tells him that he found him at the Netasuyama Park, where the battle took place. Shiro realizes that Hajima has the Lovely Eyepatch. At Jiyu's house, a party is going on. Engagements are divulged and jealousy is revealed. The ninjas surround Sai and the group and reveal their plan to take Jiyu back to Hajime. Jiyu agrees to go with them. Koinosuke advises her not to go, but to no avail. At the hideout Hajime asks Jiyu what the power of the eye-patch is.

10. This Is Where to Make the Effort

Hajime is employing torture to get the information about the Lovely Eyepatch from Jiyu when Shiro intervenes. There is a flashback where Daiyu Taiko tells Shiro's father Amon that if he were to have twins, the elder one would be his. As Amon had twins Daiyu Taiko takes one away. On his deathbed, Amon wants Shiro to save his brother. After this Jiyu then transforms into Jubei II and defeats Hajime and his ninjas. Shiro then leaves to see the old teacher who helped him but the teacher is Daiyu Taiko and he possesses Shiro.

Possessed Shiro stabs Mikage in the chest, then they fight. Mikage loses and is seriously wounded. Sai finds the wounded Mikage, takes her home, and proceeds to apply first aid. Jiyu, who sees everything, tells her dad that Mikage's not her mother.

Possessed Shiro explains that he is Taiko Daiyu and has been waiting for Shiro to replace Hajime because Shiro is the best swordsman in the country. Mikage says that she will fight Shiro, and they both leave fighting. Jiyu follows. In the forest Shiro and Jubei fight. Sai finds Jubei on the ground and sweating. Shiro knows that she's getting weak and will continue fighting until she is completely overwhelmed

13. Night Gave Way to a Brand New Day

The possessed Shiro has the upper hand and is about to kill Jiyu. But just as he is about to stab her chest, the real Shiro takes his body back and holds back the thrust. He tells Jiyu to defeat him while he is holding back, and she does. Koinosuke then takes the Lovely Eyepatch and runs to the cliff to summon Jubei Yagyu. He asks that he be allowed to die and go to heaven, as he has been nothing but a nuisance to the Nanohana family.
